Kramer’s Computer Graphics blog to appear weekly on new Sci-Fi fan subscription service “The Companion”

We are excited to announce that as of today, July 9 2021, Ed Kramer officially joins the staff of The Companion.app, a new app-based service for Science Fiction movie and TV super-fans!

Ed’s blog is appropriately named “CGI Fridays” a typical bad pun he claims he had nothing to do with…

Each week Ed will talk with visual effects and CGI masters from science fiction TV shows and movies – from the latest blockbusters in the re-emerging feature film biz to classic sci-fi shows from the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s.

The Companion has a top-tier list of writers and editors who are all well-connected in the film and TV production world of the past, present, and future!

Ed brings to The Companion his visual effects and CGI expertise gained from over 40 years in the CGI industry, including 12 years as a Senior Technical Director and Sequence Supervisor at Industrial Light + Magic. At ILM from 1994 through 2006, Ed is best known for supervising the Scarab Beetle shots from The Mummy (1999), the Rock Monster shots from Galaxy Quest (1999) and shots in the Droid Factory and End Battle sequences of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002). He also contributed CGI to such classics as Jumanji, Twister, 101 Dalmatians, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Perfect Storm, Van Helsing and Oscar-winner Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

He joins other featured writers at The Companion including Brad Wright, co-creator of the television series Stargate SG-1Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe  and co-executive producer and a writer of The Outer Limits
